Learning at The Bronx School of Hip Hop is project-based, with Hip Hop culture serving as the curriculum. Through the Five Elements, scholars master academics and Career and Technical Education (CTE): Emceeing builds English Language Arts (ELA) and communication skills; DJing applies math and technology; Graffiti teaches design and literacy; Breaking explores science and health; and Knowledge drives critical thinking for college and career readiness.

The Bronx School of Hip Hop uses the Five Elements of Hip Hop—DJing, MCing, Graffiti Art, Breaking, and Knowledge of Self—as the foundation of its curriculum. Students are taught academics with access to career and technical education (CTE) pathways through these elements, building entrepreneurship, ownership, and critical thinking, ensuring that every scholar is college and career-ready.

A Bronx-born educator shaped by the culture that raised him, Jason Reyes is the founding principal of The Bronx School of Hip Hop. Blending Hip Hop-inspired teaching, project-based learning, and Career and Technical Education (CTE), he is reimagining high school by creating pathways to college, careers, and entrepreneurship while honoring student voice, identity, and excellence.
